Pokemon Go has been making headlines left and right both for the good bad. Gamers simply cannot get enough of this game as they hunt down fan favorite original Pokemon around their general locations. However, there’s a new interesting discovery made by two Reddit users that might have revealed an upcoming partnership between Pokemon Go and McDonald’s.
Reddit users KcYoung and NeoProfessorWillow dug into the Pokemon Go code and found that McDonald’s came up quite a bit which led to speculation that perhaps we’ll see a partnership brew up. However, what type of partnership that may be is still unclear.
One of the topics that seem to turn up more often is that Pokemon Go could use McDonald’s as locations for Gyms in order to gather more customers or potentially Pokestops. For the most part, public locations such as churches, fire stations, libraries, and cemeteries, are often used for Pokestops and gyms, but if businesses can partner with Pokemon Go, more of these locations could soon pop up within the game.
This would certainly be an interesting idea to gather new customers as Pokemon Go gathers an abundance of players. Likewise, adding businesses as sponsored locations could allow more gamers opportunities to catch Pokemon, collect items, and partake in gym battles if there are in areas that are already low in Pokestops and gyms.
For now, this is simply a rumor as there have been no official statements on the matter yet. We’ll, of course, keep you posted on the very latest.
