While it’s not a live action Halo movie, Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn could be a big hit for Microsoft. According to Variety, the XBOX gaming division for the big M has been pouring a good chunk of money into this project. Why you ask? Microsoft has done a couple live action commercials for Halo before. These commercials garnered a lot of attention in the Halo community. At least that’s what Frank O’Connor of 343 Industries says.
Every time we do a live-action commercial the audience says, ‘We want to see more so that we can explore the ‘Halo’ universe a little bit more,” said Frank O’Connor, franchise development director at 343 Industries. “Demand grew more and more out of the two little vignettes we’d previously produced.
The web series will be released in five weekly installments which will be about fifteen minutes each. In total you guys will have seventy-five minutes of Halo live action goodness. Also you won’t have to worry about catching this on the tube, Machinima will have exclusive rights to show off Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn. Whether or not you will be able to rewatch previous episodes is unclear as Microsoft hasn’t put out a lot of details on the live action series yet.
No news on when this will launch exactly but it is said that the episodes will be releasing in the weeks leading up to Halo 4’s launch. So I’m assuming that five weeks before the launch of Halo 4, the web series will start.
