Trials Evolution sold 100,000 copies day one

April 24, 2012 by Mat Growcott

The sequel to one of the best-selling digital titles on 360 has also managed to break records.

Sometimes playing Trials HD could be like eating bugs and watching Peter Andre: My Life on a loop. It had moments of utter horror but, unlike Peter Andre: My Life, when you got through to the end you felt like you were truly worth something. It's nice to know that that sort of gameplay is enjoyed by the masses and Trials HD was a definite hit. It only stands to reason that Trials Evolution, its sequel, has been equally successful.

It was announced earlier in the week that Trials Evolution had become the game with the highest grossing day-one sales ever on XBLA. That's pretty amazing in itself, but thanks to a little sleuth work on the part of Gamasutra, it's been revealed that over 100,000 people played the game on the day of release. Nearly 200,000 people played on the day after.

Red Lynx are a great developer and Trials Evolution is a great game, so it's nice to see that it's getting the following it so definitely deserves.
