It seems the party will end as quickly as it began for those who recently gained access to the Diablo III beta. Joystiq is reporting Blizzard will shut down beta servers on May 1. Interestinly, the forums are going down as well for beta-users. An active Battle.net account will be required to post after the beta's end. The good news here is that the full, final release hits two weeks later on May 15, so it's bittersweet.
You've got close to two weeks left, so get your loot-mongering kicks in while you can! And while you're at it, be thankful that you can. We mere console-playing mortals will continue desperately wishing for the fabled console port of Diablo III to be officially confirmed.
For us, E3 could be the light at the end of a long, dark tunnel (by which I mean, the second half of May).
