During E3 2016 we got some pretty big reveals from the video game industry, one of which was the announcement that Microsoft will be bringing out a new slim version of their Xbox One console. This news came from Microsoft’s E3 press conference briefing where the console was shown off and detailed for the world to see. Now we’re getting word from the official Xbox blog that pre-orders are doing amazing and that fans, along with retailers, are excited about the upcoming console.
As mentioned above, the Xbox One S is an upcoming slim down model of the Xbox One console. For the most part, the consoles are the same, but the Xbox One S is reportedly 40% slimmer than the original Xbox One. Additionally, the Xbox One S will be able to play 4K and make use of High Dynamic Range, or otherwise known as HDR, Gear of War 4 just happens to be the first title to make use of HDR.

Likewise, Bob Puzon, senior vice president of Merchandising for GameStop, feels that the Xbox one S will be a top seller.
“The new sleek design and the ability to watch Blu-Ray movies and stream video in 4K Ultra HD with HDR is sure to make the new Xbox One console one of our most sought after products when it launches later this year.”
Xbox One S is currently available for pre-order with three varying models. Gamers can pick up the 2 TB system for $400, a 1 TB model for $350, and lastly a 500 GB model for just $300.
