A 39-year-old Maryland woman has been arrested for having sex with a 16-year-old boy whom she met on a German browser game.
Lisa Carroll met the boy while playing a browser game called WAR2 Glory, where they struck up a friendship. After a while, things got intimate and the two became ‘engaged’ over Skype. Carroll then drove 800 miles to meet the boy in a Southwest Florida hotel.
Eventually, the boy confessed the affair to his parents, who then intervened, despite not knowing the two had been having sex or that they planned on getting married.
The real twist, however, is that when police arrived to make the arrest, they learned that Carroll was already married. Her husband was in the room during the arrest, and this was the first he knew of her… proclivities.
In Florida, where the crime took place, it is illegal for anyone over the age of 23 to have sex with a 16-year-old.
