Firaxis just put a date on their upcoming expansion pack for its latest title Civilization V. Titled "Gods and Kings", the new expansion pack has been given the release date of June 22 and comes with a host of new techs, units, buildings, Wonders, and playable civilizations. Diplomacy and espionage have also been enhanced.
The new expansion pack will also offer a reworked combat system based on player feedback of Civilization V, enhanced diplomacy and a reintroduction of espionage, new city states, and a host of new scenarios. The new scenarios include the fall of Rome, the medieval period, Empires of the Smoky Skies, and a Victorian steampunk scenario.
In addition to all the new content, Gods and Kings will introduce the element of religion into Civilization V, with a new "faith" resource. Through this feature, players will be able to found their own religions and grow it from a simple Pantheon of Gods to a fully-customized religion.
Finally, there are two new city state types: Mercantile and Religious, and the navy has been split into two ship types: melee and ranged.
