Min-Liang Tan, CEO at Razer promised that the company would create a lefty version of its Naga gaming mouse, but that same gaming community would have to display their fondness of the idea first.
The company promised that the left-handed mouse would make its way into the real world in 2013 after receiving an enormous response from fans. The Facebook likes their campaign asked for was numbered at ten-thousand, and for Razer to honor this agreement, the like goal had to be reached by April 21st, 2012.
Days later, the Facebook campaign rests at 11,156 likes.
Tan had this to say after the victory: “You spoke. We listen. At Razer, the community is pretty much everything to us. Hell, we are part of the community (For Gamers. By Gamers. baby!) and I'm happy to announce that we achieved the 10K likes on the LH Naga in less than a week (and 3 more weeks to the deadline). Well, we're going to make it. It'll take at least till next year, but it will be done. Till then, keep those ideas coming!”
A press release later found its way to the internet, which reads, "That Facebook post generated more buzz than we could’ve ever imagined, which proves that there have been a number of gamers that have had their needs ignored for some time," said Tan. "We pride ourselves on being gamers ourselves, and we all know that there is no substitute for gaming with your dominant hand."
It is apparent demand for a left-handed gaming mouse is quite high. Do you think we will see other companies following suit? Comment below!
