Today, Playstation Blog gave us an update on the sales for Thatgamecompany’s Journey. The game has shattered sales records, becoming the fastest-selling PSN game ever released.
Jenova Chen, who also works at Thatgamecompany, writes, “Journey has officially broken Playstation Network and PlayStation Store sales records, surpassing all games ever released on the PlayStation Network to become the fastest-selling game ever released on PlayStation Store, in both the SCEA and SCEE regions.”
This is great news for the Indie development scene, as once again Thatgamecompany proves that we can see these sorts of sales from said scene. First there was Flower, and now – Journey.
Journey’s soundtrack also stirred the hearts of gamers everywhere, and in result, demand for a soundtrack release has been high. You will be happy to know that there is a soundtrack planned for release on April 11th.
“The soundtrack will be hitting the PS Store and iTunes on April 11, and there will be a limited CD release in the near future as well,” reads the blog.
