id Software has announced its plans via John Carmack's Twitter account that the studio intends to release the 64-bit executable for RAGE, which should make the game run a whole lot better on the 64bit versions of Windows 7 and Windows Vista.
While Carmack didn't provide any explanation as to why the version didn't make the cut upon RAGE's release, he says that the 64-bit executable is currently in Q&A and should be out soon.
In addition to the 64-bit confirmation, id Software has announced its plans to release modding tools for the PC version of RAGE. The modding tools will allow players to create and design their very own levels, maps, and missions for RAGE and alter just about every aspect of the game.
There's no word on when the company plans to release it, but knowing id Software, it'll be out "when it's done."
