From the same studio that brought you Chivalry: Medieval Warfare, comes a new twist on that style of slash-n-stab brawler game. In this new “Behind the Banner: Blood and Gore” behind the scenes video, see how Torn Banner Studios got the visible damages of battle just right on their characters. They detail how they worked to achieve the same feeling of Chivalry: Medieval Warfare in this new title.
The developers call Mirage a Persian influenced multiplayer first-person slasher that takes a while to get good at. It’s a mix between sword fighting and magic combat. Screaming into battle is “their brand” of game now, they say. But what allows them to extend beyond Chivalry‘s foundation is magic, allow a more dramatic and immediate effect to battle attacks. Not only will blood spatters paint the area a new shade of red, but how bloody you are is also an indicator of how much health you have. They see gore as a way of delivering an emotional payoff of some kind.
More news about Mirage: Arcane Warfare will be revealed at the PC Gaming Show at E3 – around 11:30 AM PDT on June 13th. The game is scheduled for a 2016 PC release on Steam. Check out their website to register for the beta, and follow their Facebook and Twitter pages for all the latest updates.
