The development team behind the video game Until Dawn, Supermassive Games, is currently working out some of the storytelling problems that presents itself in their latest VR title, Until Dawn: Rush of Blood. This was discovered after Upload VR spoke with executive producer Simon Harris on the progress with the currently in-development title.
Until Dawn was a successful horror hit for its storytelling narrative and the variety of choices that players are able to choose from. However, it was revealed last year the development teams next big installment, Until Dawn: Rush of Blood, which is an upcoming standalone spin-off that would be playable with PlayStation VR.
As mentioned up above, Upload VR spoke with executive producer Simon Harris on the game progress where we learn that the development team is working out various ways to give the same level of storytelling impact in a VR matter.
“There are lots of other problems we need to solve but we’re definitely looking at and working out ways that we can bring that level of storytelling to VR.”
According to Simon Harris, the developers had to think of ways to emote the player character as having a player that doesn’t speak would not work in an Until Dawn VR experience.
This statement also sparks an interest as the upcoming Until Dawn: Rush of Blood video game has been stated to be a fast-paced action shooter title, which is quite the difference compared to their hit Until Dawn video game.
Regardless, the Until Dawn video game has sold well and a VR experience video game from the same eerie horror universe sounds like something we can get behind. For now, Until Dawn: Rush of Blood is only slated to release at some point this year with no specific release date announced.
