Grasshopper Manufacture is interested in developing a sequel to last year's action horror title Shadows of the Damned, according to a new report.
Shadows of the Damned was a collaboration between Grasshopper's eccentric CEO Suda 51 and Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami. Reviews of the game were mostly positive, but sales have been lackluster at best, with just over a quarter-million copies sold to date.
Still, a sequel would be welcome, as the core concept had tons of promise. Well, not so much promise as a gun called the Boner, but that's close enough for me.
The game's composer, Akira Yamaoka, hinted in a recent interview with Eurogamer that that the Grasshopper is considering a follow-up.
"I'm thinking of a sequel, actually," he said. "I can't tell you here, but clearly I'd like to."
When aasked whether the publisher of the first game, EA, would be on board with the project, Yamoaka's reply was even more telling: "Probably. Well, yes."
