The developers of Torchlight showed a lot of class when they published a post on their official site congratulating the developers of Diablo 3 on announcing a release date for the upcoming game.
Runic Games is made up of several of the Diablo series' original creators, including the brothers Erich and Max Schafer.
The devs also urged fans not to worry about Torchlight 2's release. Fans had previously expressed their fears that the game wouldn't do so well in the wake of Diablo 3's release
"We know a lot of you are worried about us," they said. "We've heard what you're saying, and sure we've had similar discussions. But we began making the first Torchlight in 2008 when development on Diablo III was already underway. We didn't let that be a reason that we couldn't make an RPG. We made the commitment to create a game we loved to play. That's what's important to us, and that's why we go to work every day."
Torchlight 2 is expected to see release later in 2012.
