It sounds like Sony is trying to get new games made of their old IPs – even if they’re not making them.

ResetERA user thisiserfan posted this over the weekend:
Hey everyone
Based on what I’ve heard/gathered, SIE recently opened its doors to licensing agreements and are accepting multiple game pitches.
That’s why there are many rumors all of a sudden.
Titles I’m aware of:
Sly Cooper
Ape Escape
Killzone
We reported on a new Killzone game last month and a new Ape Escape last week. There have been rumors of a Sly Cooper game as far back as 2022, and we doubt this is the same project that’s being rumored today.
This rumor comes months after Sony closed Bluepoint Games. Bluepoint were rumored to have pitched remakes of Sony’s games, but those pitches were rejected.
So it’s impossible not to think that Sony is licensing their IPs because they chose to shut down studios and lay off staff that could have worked on these games. Japan Studio made tons of beloved PlayStation games that could be remade or get new games too.
As exciting as this rumor can be, it comes alongside this sad note surrounding it.
