Ape Escape might finally be breaking out of Sony’s basement.

NateTheHate has hinted that PlayStation is currently working on a new Ape Escape. This franchise hasn’t had a new game in the main series since 2005, and the last game it had of any kind was the PS3’s PlayStation Move Ape Escape, from 2010.
When probed further, Nate said that it isn’t coming from Team Asobi. Asobi is the successor to Sony’s Japan Studio, at one time the most prolific PlayStation first party studio and the main developer behind the franchise.
Nate also says that Bandai Namco is not involved, though he will double check. While Sony published all prior Ape Escape games, this came up because Bandai Namco was able to license some of Sony’s games to publish on other platforms.
It didn’t seem likely for this new Ape Escape game to release outside of PlayStation anyway. But now we’re left wondering if this game will still come to PS5, or if it’ll be carried over to PS6, how long before it releases, etc.
