Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City is getting some free DLC a couple of weeks after release. At the beginning of April, you'll be able to unlock a new special ops mission which pits you against the campaign's main protagonists, the Umbrella Security Service. With hints at an appearance from a familiar face and a free way to extend the game, it seems like Capcom are offering a pretty decent reason to keep hold of the game.
Pirat3Gaming, not ordinarily my first choice for gaming news, seem to have found that much, if not all of the files needed for this first batch of DLC, is actually already on the disk. While it's free, so it's likely to cause less complaints than other recent stories, I think holding back content to stay off the pre-owned market is a pretty terrible practise. If it's ready, release it day one (and hope the game's quality is enough to keep you going until the next DLC). As we saw with Mass Effect 3, that in itself causes problems as well.
I can't confirm for myself whether all of the DLC is on disk or whether, like with From Ashes, bits are there to avoid a huge download. I suppose for the definitive answer, we'll need to wait until the beginning of April.
