Capcom Reveals Monster Hunter Wilds Bug Isn’t Related To DLC, But Claimed Content

January 28, 2026 by Ryan Parreno

The game company still knows best in the end.

Capcom has made a surprising announcement about Monster Hunter Wilds’ PC performance bug.

Last week, Digital Foundry claimed to have replicated the performance bug. They also believed that the bug appears because the game hangs when it tries to check if you purchased DLC.

Capcom has now said this in a post on Monster Hunter Wilds’ Steam page:

After receiving user reports, our internal testing confirmed that CPU load could increase around the Support Desk at Base Camp or the Grand Hub.

This is due to claimed content status check processes to notify the player if there is unclaimed content in the Support Desk, as indicated by an exclamation point.

Capcom makes it clear that this issue is not related to what DLC players bought, and it only happens in Base Camp and Grand Hub.

Capcom confirmed that the game’s latest update will fix this issue, but they’re continuing game optimization. The next update is coming on February 18.
