Resident Evil fans have been eating well for a long while now. After that slight misstep in a lot of fans’ eyes with Resident Evil 6, Capcom went back to the drawing board. Fortunately, everything that seems to have come out since for the mainline and remakes has done quite well. We’re getting a good collection of games ranging from brand-new releases to the overall story, along with some remakes. Right now, we know that the next game coming our way is Resident Evil Requiem.
The ninth mainline installment game should be here in just a couple of months. But, beyond that, Capcom has been silent. That’s not surprising, as they are marketing their next big game release rather than diverting attention away from it. Fortunately, we have some insiders known for delivering solid information, giving us a bit more insight into what Capcom developers are cooking up. Those dishes they are preparing for us include two more remakes.
Resident Evil Remakes Are Coming Soon
If you love the RE survival-horror franchise, then get ready. We might have several games coming our way to keep us engaged. As mentioned, there is a new chapter of the main series with Resident Evil Requiem. What’s notable about that game is that we’re heading back to Raccoon City. Likewise, it was just this past week that we learned Leon Kennedy would be stepping back into the game series again, though we don’t know to what extent we’ll see Leon.
However, thanks to the folks at Insider Gaming, we’re finding out that Dusk Golem recently noted what they have heard beyond the release of Requiem. Dusk Golem is an industry insider who has brought up Resident Evil several times in the past. According to what they have heard, we should see Resident Evil: Code Veronica remade in 2027. That’s a big game that fans have been asking for, and fortunately, it seems that Capcom has listened.
Dusk Golem didn’t stop there. They also noted that Resident Evil Zero will receive a remake, set to release in 2028. So for the next three years, we should hopefully have a new RE game to play through. Though it’s important to note that this is just a rumor right now, as we don’t have anything official about the supposed next set of remakes.
