Tecmo Koei has officially revealed Nioh 3’s release date.
The game is coming in February 6, 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Windows via Steam.
Wait, What’s Nioh 3 Again?
Team Ninja has taken their time to make each new version of Nioh, so let us give you a quick refresher.
The Nioh games are set in a fantasy version of Japan that features fictionalized versions of historical figures.
The first Nioh was set in 1600, and cast you as William Addams, an Irishman who enters Japan to fight yokai in his quest to find the occultist Edward Kelley.
Nioh 2 is set as a prequel to the first game, casting you as the half yokai/half human Hideyoshi. Hideyoshi fights yokai and the humans corrupted by them in the lead up to Edward’s entry to Japan.
Nioh 3 is set in the year 1622 and shifts your role in dramatic ways once again. This time, you play Tokugawa Takechiyo, heir apparent to the Tokugawa shogunate.
Your brother Tokugawa Kunimatsu has fallen to darkness, and now leads a host of yokai against you. Aiding you to fight the yokai is the mythical queen of the Yamatai kingdom, Himiko.
Nioh 3 Demo And Pre-Order Bonuses Details
Tecmo Koei brought a limited time demo to PlayStation 5 when they first revealed the game earlier this year. There will be a new demo coming in January 29, 2026.
If you complete this demo, you can earn a Twin-Snake Helmet. You will be able to carry over your save from this demo to the full game when it releases.
Tecmo Koei is also offering several bonus items if you pre-order the game. They clarify that they may offer this DLC for purchase or for free in the future.
The original pre-order bonus is a Hellfrost Armor Set for Samurai mode and Hellfrost Ninja Attire for Ninja mode. However, they are now adding a Youngblood Armor set, based on William’s armor in Nioh, in Samurai mode.
There will also be a Lone Wolf’s Armor set, based on Hidechiyo’s armor in Nioh 2, in Ninja mode.
On top of this, there are addition pre-order bonuses for the digital copy. These include the Hellfire Warrior Armor for Samurai mode, Hellfire Ninja Attire for Ninja mode, and a Scampuss Furball Netsuke Charm.
Nioh 3 Special Editions
The Steelbook launch edition comes with the base game, a Steelbook, and bonus DLC in the form of a Lucky Tanuki Netsuke Charm and a Kusanagi Netsuke Charm.
The Treasure Box is exclusive to PlayStation 5. It comes with a disc copy of the game, an artbook, CD soundtrack, desk pad, and a Scampuss Furball Netsuke Charm Keychain.
Finally, the Digital Deluxe Edition comes with the base game, a season pass with 2 DLCs, a 14 weapon Infernal Weapons set, a Kodama Netsuke Charm, and a Chijiko Netsuke Charm.
