It looks like PlayStation 5 players get an extra treat from Rockstar Games a little early.

Tex2 (FKA Tez2) shared the news on Twitter:
Playstation players can now play #GTAOnline without PS Plus required.
This free play period, timed with the DLC launch, usually lasts two weeks.
As Tex2 explained, this is a temporary promo that Sony puts up to entice players into PlayStation Plus.
Many Grand Theft Auto V players haven’t bothered with Grand Theft Auto Online because they are not subscribed to PlayStation Plus too.
If Rockstar and Sony convince those players to jump in, they will definitely not have enough time to earn those mansions.
So there’s no question that this will be a killer deal. But one question does come up:
Was This A Mistake By Rockstar Or Sony?
PLTytus shared what he found from datamining:
I guess PS4/5 players can play #GTAOnline without PS Plus day earlier than usually in the DLC release promo period.
Looks like someone at R* was not notified about the delay
And it really doesn’t take that much to realize that Rockstar and Sony did not do this on purpose. If you started playing Grand Theft Auto Online now, you won’t get to play A Safehouse In The Hills yet.
That will certainly be annoying for players who already finished everything they wanted to do in Grand Theft Auto Online. If they ended their PlayStation Plus subscription, than they will want to make use of this free period to play.
The flip side to this too, of course is that those players using this promo effectively lost a day that they could have played A Safehouse In The Hills. We doubt Sony and Rockstar will make adjustments to add a free 15th day of PlayStation Plus.
Some fans would say this is a small thing to complain about. But it’s clearly an issue that shouldn’t even be an issue, if Rockstar and Sony did this properly.
Ultimately, of course, most Grand Theft Auto Online players won’t benefit from this promo. If they’re playing right now, they still have active PS Plus subscriptions.
Most of us reading this are just going to see a small oversight in either Sony or Rockstar hit the headlines. It’s also a potential distraction if Rockstar really did plan a huge announcement today ahead of A Safehouse In The Hills, as the rumor has been going since last week.
