Fans have found a new game breaking exploit for Borderlands 4 that Gearbox clearly needs to address immediately.

As explained by Joltzdude139 on YouTube, this glitch is all based on one very specific function: the undo skill respect button.
The Big Game Breaking Exploit: Get All The Skills
We won’t provide a tutorial for this exploit here. But the exploit involves tricking the game into thinking you put more points into a skill than you actually did.
Basically, if you choose two to three points into a single skill, you can then undo that allotment. When you choose to undo, you will get two points for every one point you put in.
If you’re feeling bad about using this exploit, you should. This makes it easy to overpower your Borderlands 4 builds.
Why This Overpowering Exploit Is Bad For Players
Of course, the big problem with any exploit like this is that it makes the game too easy, and then players get bored with it more quickly than they should.
Borderlands 4 is definitely about a potent power fantasy. Gearbox wants to encourage fans to make their characters as powerful as they can.
But this situation is tantamount to taking five stage skips to get straight to the end. Players can make their builds powerful too quickly, and that would lead to a game that just isn’t worth sticking around for.
Thankfully, Gearbox Creative Director Graeme Timmins has taken notice of this exploit. He succinctly said on Twitter:
We’re on it.
Should You Take Advantage Of The Exploit Now?
While everyone is going to learn about getting all your skills up, we all now know that it won’t last. Even if we think Gearbox might take a week or a month to change this, we do know that they are changing it.
Knowing that, you could still find a use for this exploit, particularly if you aren’t at Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode yet. This is an opportunity to try out all these skills, more than just reading their descriptions or watching other people’s gameplay.
You can particularly experiment and discover which skill combinations will work best for gameplay. It’s particularly useful so you can build towards certain skill combinations before you earn all the possible skill points you can use.
It’s surprising that an exploit this game breaking was found only now. But of course, this may be a bug that was added in by a more recent patch.
