From its inception, one of the key “hooks” of the looter shooter franchise that Gearbox Software created was to give players an almost incomprehensible amount of weapons to have as they went across Pandora and other places to shoot up anything they didn’t want around anymore. Borderlands 4 continues that trend, and continues the trend of having to be really lucky to get things like the legendary weapons that the game has. However, on Reddit, some users are stating that their luck has been much better recently, and they’ve been getting legendary weapons with ease compared to how it was previously…
Specifically, this user noted:
“Has anyone noticed an uptick in Vendor legendaries? 3 times in the last 2 days I have had Legendaries in both Guns and Dr Zeds Vendor in the same place. I’m leveling my 3rd character to 50 and I had never had that happen even once on the other 2.”
Given that the game has had a lot of patches and tweaks recently, it’s not impossible to think that there could’ve been some improvements to the RNG luck that’s required to get weapons from drops or vending machines. In fact, another Redditor noted that they also had some good luck with legendaries recently:
“I got more legendary weapons this weekend from vendors than my first 2 playthroughs. I got 4-5 on each play through- this weekend I got 12 legendaries on 1 session with my Rafa.”
Other players, though, weren’t feeling the same “luck” with their pulls:
“I haven’t seen an increase, no. I’ve always seen 2-3 in any given play session, and more if I fast travel around a lot doing just bounties.”
“I haven’t had that kinda luck with vendors, but I have had pretty good luck getting dedicated drops. Just not the exact parts I want. I see people complain about the drop rates when I think they’re better than bl2, I’ve had decent enough luck with them I was confused why people were complaining at first. He was the big encore boss last week but there were a few times Origo dropped me 5-7 legendary items all from his loot pool “
So, it appears that Borderlands 4 hasn’t really “adjusted” things to make the drops better. It’s just that some people truly have “all the luck,” and they’re able to get things quicker than others. Such is the nature of games like this. However, that doesn’t mean that the RNG couldn’t be “tweaked” in the future…
