With there now being a LOT of time until GTA 6 drops, fans are having to “take care of themselves” in other ways as they wait for the game’s release, and the various trailers and other marketing things that Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive will do to get the hype “back up.” For many, they’ll simply go on to play other video games and distract themselves until November of 2026. However, there are just as many who will do what they can to feel “connected” to the new game as much as possible. To that end, let’s talk about the image that is right above this paragraph.
That image is an official promo image that Rockstar Games dropped some time back. It shows off the protagonists, Jason and Lucia, and gives a nice look at Vice City in the background. The “Catch” with that image, though, is that Rockstar Games released it in a bunch of different sizes, and it made some fans wonder what things would look like if they were “all together.”
Sure enough, one fan took up that challenge, and not only put the pictures together, but took out Jason and Lucia and “finished things himself” so that he could create a piece of artwork that fully showed the beauty of Vice City and its surrounding area. You can see the full work here:
Many were quick to praise the piece because, if you didn’t know any better, you’d swear that the art piece was another one from Rockstar Games. Instead, it was a fan that did it. The fact that they were able to accomplish this and make it look like something the developer did says quite a bit. In fact, the team could easily hire them, and they would fit right into things.
It’s actually rather ironic that the one thing from GTA 6 that fans have in abundance is promotional art. It started with the first piece that dropped alongside the initial trailer, and then, Rockstar and Take-Two started to drop more, showing off the main characters, the side characters, and then just teasing the “vibes” that Vice City would have once you finally dove into it. In many ways, it helped increase the hype, as gamers wanted to know more about who we were seeing and what else we’d be able to do in Vice City.
Sadly, we’ll have to wait for those answers, but if you feel inspired to do an art piece like this, have at it!
