Overcooked is an indie co-op cooking game from Ghost Town Games studio. The modestly sized development team managed to impress Team17, a larger video game company that has a wide variety of games in their portfolio. Team17 announced a publishing agreement with Ghost Town Games to help Overcooked launch in full to PC and consoles.
But what is Overcooked? The announcement trailer that launched back in February will take you on a chaotic gameplay tour.
The story of Overcooked takes place in the Onion Kingdom. The people are in danger and only fine dining can fix the problem. Players embark on a quest across different unusual and challenging kitchens, in order to master the culinary arts and conquer the ancient (although tasty) evil of the world. In either single or multiplayer modes, you can experience a wide range of cooking co-operative missions and competitive challenges.

We’ve been working on the game for over a year now and it’s just great to have the help and support of a team with 25 years’ experience that has as much love for local multiplayer gaming as we do!” said Ghost Town Games Co-Founder Phil Duncan. Team17 CEO Debbie Bestwick added that they were “delighted to welcome Ghost Town Games to our label.”
According to a press release, Overcooked is coming out this year for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
