GAME are currently running a pretty awesome sale. If there's an older game you're after and have a couple of pound spare, rush out to your local GAME or Gamestation and you'll probably find it at a ridiculously cheap price. There's Microsoft points at almost half price, consoles practically being given away and pre-owned titles that you might as well just walk away with. To most of the people buying, this is just a crazy sale, but the GAME company is on its last legs, and the sale is a result of needing to burn through stock.
At a meeting with top level executives, GAME CEO Ian Shepherd said that the company has only two weeks to change things, or fall into administration. There are still rumours that GameStop are planning to buy part of, or even all of the company, but at this point nothing concrete has been announced.
It won't be long until we know exactly what's going to happen with GAME but, whatever happens, things are definitely going to change for the UK gaming scene over the next few weeks.
