Sony has announced that the long-awaited PlayStation Move exclusive Sorcery will be available in North America on May 22.
Originally announced back at E3 2010, Sorcery generated a lot of buzz for being uniquely focused on bringing robust gaming experiences to the gimmicky world of motion control. All too soon after that, though, the game performed a magic trick of its own, vanishing into thin air for a year and a half.
By the time it finally resurfaced in December, it had largely been forgotten. And that's a shame, really, because the game's core concept — cast spells by waving your Move wand about — seems like a perfect fit for the platform, and the Irish mythology-inspired setting was a refreshing change of pace for the fantasy genre.
The developer's official plot description is golden, so I'll let it do the talking:
Finn is in trouble. First, he accidentally blew up his master’s alchemy lab. Then he’s let Erline, his master’s magical cat, talk him into trespassing in the realm of the dead. Now he’s unleashed an ancient universe-destroying evil that won’t stop until everything he cares about is utterly annihilated. It has not been a good day.
