Nintendo Switch 2 fans might be looking at Nintendo, wondering what’s coming. We have the next major title arriving this month with Donkey Kong Bananza. But beyond that, there are a lot of players wondering what the next major game will be heading out this year, and, of course, you have the third-party developers slowly working their way out with announcements. Well, it turns out we’ll learn more soon enough as an industry insider confirms a Nintendo Direct should arrive this month.
Last month, we had the big release of the Nintendo Switch 2. Nintendo had hoped to get players excited for the console at launch with Mario Kart World. Then you had some third-party offerings like Cyberpunk 2077 being offered as well. We also know that the next major game coming down the pipeline is Donkey Kong Bananza. That game is heading our way on July 17, 2025. Beyond that, we should have a nice little Nintendo Direct presentation to keep us engaged on what else to mark our calendars for.
NateTheHate is a reliable industry insider with a strong track record. In a new podcast uploaded today, the insider touched on the next Nintendo Direct. Overall, the focus was mainly on third-party and whether they would have a bigger showing during the stream. While some third-party games have been unveiled, others have yet to be highlighted. In part, that could be due to what teams were given access to a developer kit ahead of the console launch.
While we don’t have a specific date, this month has been rumored in the past to feature a new Nintendo Direct. On the podcast, NateTheHate noted that he doesn’t have any information outside of the next Nintendo Direct happening this month after Donkey Kong Bananza drops on July 17, 2025.
So, while it’s not as specific as we would have liked, we can at least assume a Nintendo Direct July 2025 presentation. Now speculation can run rampant on what games will be unveiled to the masses and if we’ll see more focus on third-party games.
