It looks like we’ll be hearing more about Grand Theft Auto 6 from leakers than from Rockstar Games.

As shared on the GamingLeaksAndRumours subreddit by user Sunless_Heaven, Tom Henderson made an announcement on the Insider Gaming podcast. He revealed that he has a big article coming up in the next few weeks about Grand Theft Auto 6 Online.
Now, Rockstar has kept their cards close to the chest when it comes to the next game in their billion dollar franchise. Earlier this month, Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick went on record that Grand Theft Auto 6 is still coming in Fall 2025, the same date they promised since their big announcement trailer in late 2023. Zelnick also made it clear that they intend to start marketing close to the game’s actual release, in line with what marketers know about consumers only paying attention when advertising is for a game that’s about to release.
While the trailer did get the fans hyped up, we did notice that Rockstar and Take-Two made no announcements related to Grand Theft Auto Online. It’s possible that we did see some of Grand Theft Auto Online in that trailer, but Rockstar didn’t tell us where and what it would be.
So that did open a window for fans to listen to rumors about the game. But it must be said, most of that rampant speculation was talked down, as many reporters, leakers and insiders debunked claims that the game experienced delays at any point since that 2023 trailer. In fact, Rockstar and Take-Two have been remarkably consistent in sticking to that Fall 2025 release window.
But there is still a rumor that hasn’t been debunked, because Rockstar and Take-Two have yet to comment on it. At the start of this year, the rumor started going around that the new version of Grand Theft Auto Online would be sold separately from Grand Theft Auto 6. This rumor is often connected to speculation that game companies are looking to start selling games at $ 100. The idea would be that Rockstar could justify selling the two separately at $ 50 each, and then sell them together at $ 100.
But as we’ve seen, more and more games are now releasing at over the $ 60 price point gamers have gotten used to. Nintendo has revealed their first $ 80 retail price game in Mario Kart World, but Sony has also revealed they will be selling Ghost of Yōtei at $ 70. With this in mind, it seems clear that Rockstar and Take-Two can justify selling Grand Theft Auto 6 with Grand Theft Auto Online just a little lower than that $ 100 price point, at $ 70 or even $ 80.
Getting back to Tom Henderson, we are certain he knows that pricing is the particular subject that the fans are concerned about now. He may very well confirm that Grand Theft Auto 6 is releasing at $ 100 after all, or at least confirm the intended price. The only way he wouldn’t be reporting on price is if he has some other scoop that could be as or even more compelling.
If we were honest, we aren’t sure that we want this to be the case, but we’re just going to have to see what Henderson has in store for us in the coming weeks – unless Take-Two sees this noise and pre-empts him first.
