Markus “Notch” Persson may well be the classiest game developer on the planet. Rather than personally pocketing the $3 million in dividends he made off the sales of Minecraft, the developer chose to distribute that money to all the other employees of Mojang, who helped create the game.
To be sure, Mojang’s 25 employees are a well paid bunch, but the bonus Notch gave them was something he seems to have done out of his own heart.
Tonight at the 5M party @notch gave away all his dividends to the Mojang employees. Thanks to him, this is the best company in the world.

Minecraft earned around $100 million in revenue for the company since it was launched last year, through Alpha, Beta and Full Release sales of both the PC and Pocket Edition. With the Xbox Live Arcade version of Minecraft set for release later this year, Mojang is set to reap even more money.
