Xbox Live Gets HBO Go on April 1

February 29, 2012 by Joe Ryan

At long last HBO Go will be making its way to Xbox Live, early April.

Remember ages ago when it was announced that HBO Go was coming to Xbox Live and everyone was out of their minds with excitement and then…it never showed up? At long last, it has been announced that HBO Go will be coming to your favorite Microsoft console on April 1st, coinciding with the premier of Game of Thrones Season 2.

Engadget reports that the announcement was made last night at an HBO event, so the information is likely reliable. And choosing to release the update alongside the premier of Game of Thrones Season 2 seems like HBO probably really knows their audience.

If you aren't familiar, HBO Go is a service for people who are subscribed to HBO on their home service and want to be able to watch HBO shows on demand, or while on the go (get it?). It offers more shows than most cable providers do on their 'On demand' services, and allows you to get you HBO fix on tons of different pieces of technology at this point. So look forward to watching all your favorite HBO shows on Xbox starting in April.
