Facebook App Pulled from Vita

February 25, 2012 by Mat Growcott

A huge part of the social networking side of the Vita has been pulled after reports of a very buggy launch.

I can't imagine many people decided to buy a PlayStation Vita based upon the fact that it has pretty neat apps for Twitter and Facebook, but it doesn't hurt things any. Being able to check my Twitter account while in-game is something that I love, it takes seconds and my gaming doesn't suffer from it at all. It's a pleasure to use and it's something I've wanted on other consoles/handhelds in the past.

Facebook users are telling a different story. It seems the Facebook app was causing enough problems and throwing out enough errors that Sony have removed it from the store after only a couple of days. I imagine it will be sent back to whoever created it, worked upon as a priority, be sped through QA and made available again as soon as humanly possible.

So, hands up, who else's Vita will be gathering dust now that they can't read about their family's extremely interesting lives while playing Uncharted?
