Total War Shogun 2: Fall of the Samurai is the latest addition to the Total War franchise. As a standalone expansion, you can play the game without having the original Total War: Shogun 2.
Set amidst the conflict between the Imperial throne and the last Shogunate in 19th century Japan, the game sees a clash between traditional Samurai culture with the power of modern weaponry and Western influence as Japan falls into civil war.
Sega has put up the second part of their reveal trailers for the game, which goes into detail about the game's 19th century setting with developer interviews.
