Issues are being reported on the Xbox Series X, issues regarding performance and visuals. These issues seem to be limited to Stalker 2, but they highlight a rather large issue within the console gaming space.
Console gaming is supposed to be a simplified experience, however, in recent years that hasn’t been the case. Low definition games and a smooth frame rate is playable but high definition games and a choppy frame rate are intolerable. Buggy performance can ruin a game and what it sells is an experience. If that’s a bad experience players are unlikely to return. Tech4Gamers reported that this issue is very apparent in Stalker 2.
Stalker 2 is reportedly plagued with choppy frame rates, poor visuals and inconsistent textures. OrfeasDourvas shared on Reddit that the gaming experience wasn’t great, despite the graphics looking just as they did in the pictures. However, it muddied up from time to time.
According to OrfeasDourvas, the VRR performance improved the framerate but it wasn’t a consistent 60 FPS throughout. Locking it to 30 FPS seemed to net the best experience. The first game also struggled with issues at launch. However, that was later fixed in an update. Hopefully the same is true of the second game.
