It’s not surprising anymore to see more adaptations from the video game industry. Years ago, we had not seen very many successful adaptations of big-screen films or television series from popular video games. They often missed some of the charm that made these games so beloved. However, that has changed recently, and we’re seeing some incredible works come out into films and home media. Tomb Raider is one of the next big productions that might have some fans keeping tabs on.
Tomb Raider has been around for ages in terms of video games. Likewise, we have seen a few adaptations in the past. Those adaptations came in the form of movies where actresses such as Angelina Jolie and Alicia Vikander stepped into the role of Lara Croft. However, earlier this year, we learned of Amazon rolling out a Prime series adaptation. What we didn’t know was who would step into the role of Lara Croft.
Today, thanks to a report from Deadline, it seems that the series might have found its Lara. The actress is supposedly set to undergo negotiations for the role of Sophie Turner. You might know her from a few roles, but her big claim to fame that threw this actress into stardom could easily be pinpointed to Game of Thrones. Those who have watched the series will know Sophie as the actress who portrayed Sansa Stark.
Unfortunately, we don’t know much of anything regarding the series. Just where this narrative will take players or if any particular game storylines will be featured. Regardless, we’re sure there will be plenty of fans interested in seeing the latest adaptation take from this iconic franchise. For now, we’ll have to wait and see if Amazon confirms that Sophie has struck a deal and signed a contract to step into this production.
