Alan Wake PC Sales “Delight” Devs

February 21, 2012 by Mat Growcott

It took long enough to come to the platform, but when it finally did, the Alan Wake developers were blown away.

So it seems for the first time ever, a developer is really happy about a port to the PC. I'm talking really, really happy. Alan Wake developers Remedy Interactive originally planned to bring their action-horror game to the PC, PS3 and 360, but Microsoft paid for exclusive rights to the 360 version. The 360 version was released almost two years ago.

The announcement of a PC version came shortly before the release and the developer made it clear that it was something they'd wanted to do for a long time. They even had a positive message for pirates, laughing off a problem that other developers have cancelled games over.

“Alan Wake on the PC has been something both us and the fans have wanted since the original Alan Wake was released” Aki Jarvilehto, executive VP at Remedy, said earlier today. “It’s been such a long journey and now that the game is finally out, it’s very emotional to see such a positive fan reaction to it. We hold PC games very dear to our hearts at Remedy, so in a lot of ways, this feels like finding a lost child, you get to reconnect with something you love and cherish and want to spend more time with it in the future.”

I don't think there's much to add to that.
