One of the oddest things about the Vita's launch is that, for all the mini-console's bells and whistles, it lacks the ability to play PlayStation 1 Classics. Granted, I'm not spending over £200 on the ability to play PS1 games, but it'd certainly boost my Vita collection substantially if I could have the option to do so.
Thankfully, we shouldn't be waiting too long for that feature to be implemented. According to the EU blog's Twitter, the feature is coming "soon."
"Downloaded PS one Classics will be compatible with PS Vita soon after launch."
Whether soon means that we should expect it within the first couple of weeks after launch, or whether soon means the more broad "before you get other features," it's difficult to judge. However, Sony are well aware that this is a big feature for many people, some of whom have been holding off playng titles to play on their Vita, and these people aren't going to accept being kept waiting for too long.
