Xbox Game Studios will soon have a new head, as it’s reported that Alan Hartman is retiring. From the report, it looks like Craig Duncan will step up and take control of the company. For those unfamiliar, Craig Duncan is the current head of development studio Rare.
A new report from Gamesindustry.biz reveals that Alan Hartman will soon be stepping down as head of Xbox Game Studios. However, it looks like Microsoft already has a successor ready to step up in that position. Craig Duncan, as mentioned, is the head of Rare, a subsidiary studio of Microsoft that recently saw some success with the release of Sea of Thieves.
According to the report, once Craig Duncan steps up to take over as the head of Xbox Game Studios, Rare will see Joe Neate and Jim Horth take control of Craig’s former duties at Rare. This will apparently take place rather soon, as the transitions will happen at the end of November.
For those unfamiliar with it, Xbox Game Studios is a publisher for the Microsoft gaming division. So, it would be quite a new challenge and venture for Craig. Essentially, Craig will be aiding Microsoft’s studios in bringing their games and experiences to the masses.
In other recent news related to Microsoft, a new bundle has been unveiled for the Amazon Fire Stick. If you recall, Microsoft recently released an application allowing players to access Game Pass on the Fire Stick. This bundle will give you everything required to get Game Pass up and running. You would still require an internet connection supporting Microsoft’s cloud gaming requirements.
