Metal Gear Solid fans have an exciting remake coming their way. We have the upcoming Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater to enjoy soon. However, some players are wondering why Konami opted to bring out this installment remake rather than starting with the first game. It looks like the work required to make the first two installments remade a reality would be far more challenging.
Thanks to Insider Gaming, we’re finding out that Famitsu recently interviewed producers Noriaki Okamura and Yuji Korekado. During their conversation, it was asked why the studio didn’t just start by remaking Metal Gear Solid and then progressing towards Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. The answer was due to the amount of work that would have been required from the team, as several sections of those games would have been remade for a modern take.
That was mainly avoided with Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater. However, we recently reported that Konami’s developers had to adjust the difficulty due to the different camera perspectives featured. Still, it does seem that developers had to tackle a few new parts. Even with those few new parts, it was much easier to handle than remaking the earlier installments.
However, the producers said they had very few staff members left who were involved with Metal Gear Solid 1 and Metal Gear Solid 2. Likewise, it was noted that plans are in place to preserve the Metal Gear series before all of the original staff members who are still with Konami leave.
Right now, it seems that Konami will focus on the feedback it receives from the Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater release. Perhaps afterward, we might see other remakes announced. At the moment, we’re left waiting on the definitive release date for this upcoming installment. When this title does launch, it will be available for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S platforms.
