Ahead of its planned release this holiday season, LEGO Horizon Adventures has been rated for multiple platforms. As the game will have a lighter story for all ages to enjoy, its ‘E’ for everyone rating isn’t too surprising, though it reportedly contains some language players may not have anticipated in a LEGO game.
“This is an action-adventure game in which players assume the role of Aloy as she protects her home from invaders,” the game’s summary reads. “From a 3/4-overhead perspective, players traverse platform environments, interact with characters, and engage in melee combat against LEGO cultists and robotic dinosaurs. Players use punches, bows, and explosives to defeat enemies that break apart into LEGO pieces.
Battles are often fast-paced, accompanied by explosions, impact sounds, and cries of pain. Boss encounters involve more protracted combat with larger robotic dinosaurs. The word “a*s” is heard in the game.”
LEGO Horizon Adventures will focus on both engaging solo and multiplayer gameplay, allowing for both couch and online co-op. Cross-platform co-op will be supported.
During a recent interview with VGC, James Windeler, a narrative director at Guerrilla, discussed the reasons why the team decided to release LEGO Horizon Adventures on Nintendo Switch despite being a PlayStation studio.
“It was just a really unique opportunity for us. It was a natural fit for the ambitions that we had,” Windeler said. “I keep mentioning it, but we want this to be for everyone, and the Switch is really a platform that allows us to broaden the audience.”
LEGO Horizon Adventures will be released for PC, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation 5 this holiday season.
