Time is slowly ticking down until the launch of Dragon Ball Sparking Zero, and fans eagerly wait for each new trailer to arrive so that they can see what’s coming next and who will fill those precious final roster slots within the game! In the newest trailer that dropped today, the “Buu Saga” got its spotlight, bringing in familiar faces and a few surprises. For those who don’t know, this saga was the “final saga” in the legendary anime for a long time and featured one of its most terrifying villains in Buu. It also featured a huge time jump, so characters like Gohan grew up quite a bit.
That’s a fitting segue to the first character in the new trailer, the Great Saiyaman! You might recall that he’s already in the game via the Videl character. However, he’s now getting his own solo role! This was a special superhero character that Gohan did to try and hide his identity from the public. It wasn’t a fan-favorite character as a whole, but it’s still being used, so clearly, the team thinks it’s worthy. We also get to see him in Super Saiyan in his adult form, so that’s something that people might like a bit more.
Another character we see is Babidi, who was one of the masterminds behind the entire Buu Saga, as he’s the one who found Buu and helped release him from his shell. Sure, he soon died by Buu’s hands later on, but it was a memorable role nonetheless.
What might be a surprise to many is the arrival of Evil Buu. He was a specific version of Buu created to expel the evil from Fat Buu’s body, and that resulted in a form that was truly evil, not to mention very calculating. When those two fused again, Super Buu was created, which is one of the more iconic variations of the villain. Finally, we got Kid Buu, who is actually the ultimate form of the character as he is a “pure rage incarnate.” It was this version that was the “final boss” of the saga and had to be completely eradicated to finally be defeated.
The trailer also highlights the many classic moments of the Buu Saga, including Goku going Super Saiyan 3, Vegeta’s sacrifice, and more. Even when these arrivals, though, Dragon Ball Sparking Zero still has a good chunk of its roster left to unlock. With the game arriving on October 11th, we will get more announcements soon.
