In an investor call at NCSoft today, the publisher has confirmed that it plans to release a console version of ArenaNet's Guild Wars 2. The console version of the game will presumably be released sometime after the PC version comes out.
The investor call also made reference to the beta test for the game, which has yet to be made official. Guild Wars Insider reports that the company plans to hold large-scale beta tests for Guild Wars 2 in March and April, with the results from those tests determining the next step in the game's development.
Posting on the Guild Wars 2 Guru forums, ArenaNet community lead Martin Kerstein urged fans not to worry over the announcement and reiterated the developer's commitment to the PC version of the game.
"I think “stay calm, don’t panic” will become my new mantra," he said. "We stated multiple times in public that we have a small team working on a console version, but that we are fully dedicated to make the most kickass game for PC."
