Star Wars fans are getting a new game installment in just a matter of days now. But if you were one of the few who picked up the higher tier versions of Star Wars Outlaws, Gold or Ultimate Edition, you’ll find that you’ll already have access to it. Early Access players were granted access to the game days ahead of its planned launch. That’s great for those who were fully committed to picking this title up at launch and wanted to dive into the action ahead of most other players. Unfortunately, if you played this on PlayStation 5, you can say goodbye to all that progress.
There is nothing worse than finding that all that progress you made in a game is for nothing. So it’s terrible to learn that those of you who were heavily playing this game on the PlayStation 5 are forced to restart everything. Thanks to the folks over at Insider Gaming, we’re finding out that a new day-one patch was sent out to Star Wars Outlaws, and it conflicts with save games, specifically on the PlayStation 5.
Apparently, Ubisoft is sending emails to those on the PlayStation 5 version of the game, asking them to download the update. However, this update would actually create some problems with the current save file on the PlayStation 5. Players who opt to continue using the save file will even run into areas that would block progress altogether. So, ultimately, you’re going to have a bad time if you stick with your current save file.
Fortunately, this just seems to be limited to one platform. But again, it’s terrible news for PlayStation 5 players who are actively playing the campaign. At the very least, there is still time left with Early Access before the full game launches in the marketplace. With that said, if you haven’t been keeping tabs on this title, you’ll find it available on August 30, 2024. When the game officially launches into the marketplace, you can pick up a copy on PlayStation 5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S platforms.
