A free benchmarking tool for the upcoming action RPG Black Myth: Wukong is now available to download on Steam. Players wanting to test how their rigs will handle the graphics-heavy title can download the handy tool, which only takes up around 8GB of space.
Comparable to other benchmarking tools, the program will play several in-game sequences and measure how well a player’s computer handles them in real time. Of course, it is possible to alter the graphics options to find the best fit.
“We have ensured that benchmark results closely approximate expected performance when playing Black Myth: Wukong, however, due to the complexity and variability of gaming scenarios, test results may not fully represent the actual gaming experience and final performance at the time of the game’s release,” the Steam page reads.
According to Game Science, the title will officially release on August 20 at 10 AM (UTC +8) on PlayStation 5, Steam, and the Epic Games Store. Those preordering the title will get the Trailblazer’s Scarlet Gourd in-game item.
Rooted in Chinese Mythology, Black Myth: Wukong is based on Journey to the West, one of the great classical novels of Chinese literature. Players will set out as the Destined One, taking on various challenges and exploring to “uncover the obscured truth beneath the veil of a glorious legend from the past,” according to the official description.
Black Myth: Wukong is set to release on August 20, 2024 for PC and PlayStation 5, with an Xbox Series X/S version coming later. The title will reportedly be the first installment in a planned Black Myth series, which will reimagine different stories from Chinese mythology.
