New Info Revealed in Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Live Stream

May 2, 2016 by Nick Monroe

“Space allows us to take the player to places they’ve never been in Call of Duty before.”

The Call of Duty Twitch channel had a Reveal Live Stream event today as well, expanding upon the footage and story of the upcoming Infinite Warfare game that the YouTube trailer showed off.

Taylor Kurosaki talked about the Infinite Warfare setting. “The world is dependent on resources from outposts throughout the solar system,” he says. The Settlement Defense Front wants to control the Earth by means of these solar outposts. There isn’t going to be any aliens, it’s grounded to the reality that it would be humans fighting each other across our solar system.

But you can certainly anticipate tons of space action. According to one of the developers:

“A mission on the surface of an asteroid spinning out of control close to the Sun, where it’s 2000 degrees in the sunlight and -200 degrees in the shade.”

The story mode uses motion capture acting instead of a recording studio. Body suits and helmet cameras with wireless mics make the reactions feel more genuine.

Earth will be a battlezone, but spaceship fights are also a mainstay. Multiplayer designer Joe Cecot revealed the maps will extend that Earth and Space combat even further, taking online gameplay to other planets as a backdrop.

“The believability of this world is paramount to us,” they stated.

Brian Wright confirmed that Infinity Ward is including zombies for the first time in Infinite Warfare. So look forward to that.

The PS4 and Xbox One versions of both the standard and Legacy Edition of the game are available for pre-order on Amazon.

“The player will embark on a classic war story about grand scale warfare; all set in a grounded future where human conflict has spread throughout our solar system. Multiplayer brings ground-breaking gameplay innovations to deliver the deepest and most engaging Call of Duty experience to date. The title introduces stunning, never before seen, multi-planetary environments, new weaponry, and all-new player abilities to Call of Duty. In addition, the new cooperative zombies experience will thrill players with an original direction featuring fun and unique gameplay, all wrapped into an entertaining narrative sure to excite fans. “
