Palworld was extremely popular when it first launched on January 19 in early access, having sold millions of copies on Steam within the first couple of days, as well as having bet Fortnite on Xbox at having the most active players online every day. While the game had very high numbers and player counts for a while, it seems after two months, the fate of the game has changed.
Insider Gaming shared that SteamDB’s shows that Palworld has lost about 97% of its overall player count on the Steam platform, which is obviously a huge difference than what it had just a couple weeks ago. What once was 275,000 players daily turned into only 69,850 players according to Insider Gaming.
It is also anxiety inducing to some degree when a game doesn’t continue getting good views as it makes many worry the game could be at risk at shutting down, however, with Palworld we want to believe different.
When the game launched, it reached higher peaks that don’t just naturally happen for any other game, so with that being said, the game will be loosing players until it gets to what its normal standard will be. Something that the developers also need to think about is giving players a reason to log on daily, like challenges or rewards, which was suggested by Insider Gaming.
To wrap up, Pocketpair, which is the developer of the game, isn’t done working on the game or even close to it. Raids will soon be joining Palworld, and there is still many new things coming to the game that players are waiting for.
