Everyone makes mistakes every now and then, it’s why pencils have erasers, right? What about when that pencil is a printing machine, though? When you make a mistake like this on the packaging of a game (and then proceed to ship it,) it’s a little bit harder to correct, however.
Resident Evil Revelations, or ‘Revelaitons’ as the botched packaging reads, was shipped to some retailers in advance of the release. Joystiq posted a photo from one of their readers, which shows several cases containing the quite obvious error on the case’s spine.
Capcom has since offered a statement about the gaff, telling Joystiq “"The initial shipment of Resident Evil Revelations had been sent to retailers in North America with the spelling error. Subsequent shipments of the title are being repackaged and will have the corrected spelling.”
“Customers who have been affected by the misspelling on the Resident Evil Revelations packaging can contact Capcom Customer Service at 650-350-6700 or [email protected] and a new insert for the front of box will be sent."
This raises the question on why you’d want a new insert, however. No doubt it will become quite a nifty little collectible.
