Until Dawn Is Reportedly Heading To PC & PS5

January 24, 2024 by Dennis Patrick

A new remaster release could be in the works.

There are still quite a few PlayStation titles that have not made the jump to PC. Sony doesn’t have the longest history of releasing their games on the PC platform. But they have been making a more significant effort to ensure that their exclusives find a release on PC after being made available on the PlayStation 5 platform. With that said, there is one game that could soon find a new remastered release. If the rumor proves to be real, a new release for Until Dawn is planned not only for PC but also for the PlayStation 5 platform.

Until Dawn has been available for the PlayStation 4 platform for a good while now. It’s a thrilling horror game that plays out much like a cinematic film experience. Developed under Supermassive Games, the developers found quite a strong following since this title release. Since then the studio has continued to release games in a similar playstyle. But if you’re fond of Until Dawn and are interested in an enhanced version made on the latest hardware, you’re potentially in luck. This new rumor comes from Bilbill-kun, a reliable industry insider who has made a new post stating that a new version is coming out with an announcement likely to happen in the coming weeks.

For those unaware, Until Dawn follows a group of characters stuck in the mountains after a winter storm prevents them from leaving. However, the group soon finds that an entity is stalking them. It’s up to the players to make the right choices and complete QTEs. Depending on your choices and reflexes will ultimately determine what characters survive through the night. Again, it’s been a popular game, and it recently made some new headline news.

If you don’t recall, earlier this month we got the reveal of an Until Dawn movie adaptation heading into production. Just how this film will sync up with the source material remains to be seen. But that might be another reason to bring this Until Dawn back into the marketplace. Details right now are scarce; according to Bilbill-kun, we are likely just going to see a remastered edition rather than a complete remake. Furthermore, just like the previous report for Death Stranding 2, an announcement for the next Until Dawn release could be coming out in just weeks. This reveal might also come out alongside a new PlayStation State of Play stream. But we’re still waiting on the official announcement to come out confirming a State of Play is in the works.
