When Palworld was first introduced to the world, it was met with plenty of comparisons to the Pokemon franchise. There are some rather big differences, obviously, but it can’t prevent players from noticing how similar the two are. Regardless, it didn’t take the game very long before a Pokemon mod was announced, gaining massive attention. Fans couldn’t wait to try this mod out, but Nintendo was none too happy about its potential release. DMCA takedowns online were quick to try erasing the teaser content popping up, but that still didn’t stop Toasted Shoes from showcasing the mod.
Thanks to a report from Gamesradar, we’re finding out that Toasted Shoes has gone ahead and shared the video highlighting the fact that a Pokemon mod for Palworld is in the works. Unfortunately, there’s no way for players to download the mod quite yet. Instead, it looks like the mod is only available as a video showcase right now to highlight the various Pokemon roaming the areas. You’ll also find that this mod includes Ash as the protagonist alongside the cameos of other popular Pokemon franchise characters.
Regardless of the various cameos and Pokemon roaming around, it seems like there is some real hesitation right now on releasing the mod. Instead, taking to the X social media platform, Toasted Shoes alerted their followers that he is aware of people wanting access to the mod. However, they note that because Nintendo is sending DMCAs over his posts on X, he wants to tread lightly for the time being. That is not too surprising, as you certainly don’t want to find a lawsuit coming your way for the folks over at Nintendo.
There have even been reports made by a variety of individuals, including the past Pokemon attorney head on the recent mod. This has been quite a hot topic, and it’s leaving fans wondering if Toasted Shoes is able to release the mod without the threat of any legal action. While Toasted navigates through the legal obstacles that are in his way, you can at least see the mod in action. As mentioned, Toasted Shoes released the video highlighting the mod in action, which you can view below. As for those of you who are just interested in playing Palworld as intended, the game was released through early access this month, where you can enjoy it on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S platforms.
