When it comes to Baldur’s Gate 3, there is so much we could say about the game that we could fill up the entire article with just these praises. It’s not only one of the best games of 2023; many people called it their “Game of the Year,” and others praised it for being one of the most “surprisingly epic” games of the year. It has a deep story, fun characters, loads of replay value, and a world that is begging to be explored. When it was announced to have finally come to the Xbox Series X/S, many gamers rejoiced until they learned about all the issues plaguing it.
Typically, when something like this happens, we’re quick to blame the developer, in this case, Larian Studios, because it’s their job to ensure such things don’t happen. However, it’s not their fault at all. The Xbox systems in question keep causing problems for Baldur’s Gate 3 players, and the newest one has to deal with gamers getting suspended or banned from their accounts! How does that work? Well, it involves players uploading certain “content” via screenshots or videos.
If you can’t take a hint, we’re referring to how the game has very lewd scenes, and players are more than happy to show their “exploits” when the time arrives. The Xbox systems are monitored by an AI that looks at that content and thinks it’s “breaking the rules,” and thus, players are getting suspended or banned.
As you can imagine, Larian Studios is not amused with this and posted the following message on Twitter to show fans that they are trying to get this dealt with immediately:
The other issue that we teased before was that all their saved files were being lost thanks to the Xbox systems, which again was a fault of the consoles, not Larian Studios. The irony of all of this is that there is a reason why the Xbox Series X/S version of the game came out so much later than the PC and PlayStation versions. Simply put, Microsoft had certain “demands” of developers who brought their games onto the systems, and Larian had a hard time adjusting to fit both X/S consoles. And now that these things are happening and harming their games, we’re sure they’re wondering why they bothered to bring the game to the console at all!
To be clear, this isn’t happening with other systems, and their gamers are enjoying the game mightily.
